  • create an account as a Client or Wasler; or
  • otherwise interact with us.

By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are and Scope

1.1 Controller

For purposes of this Privacy Policy, Prowasl is the entity responsible for the processing of your personal information (the "data controller").

1.2 Scope

This Policy applies to personal information we collect from:

  • Clients and Waslers who use the Platform in the United States (initially focusing on Colorado communities such as Fort Collins, Aurora, and Denver);
  • Visitors to our website and app;
  • Customer support, marketing, and other communications.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three main ways: (1) information you provide, (2) information collected automatically, and (3) information from third parties.

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

Account & Profile Information

  • Name, email address, phone number, password;
  • Postal address and general location (city, ZIP code);
  • Profile photo, biography, skills, hourly rates, service area, and availability;
  • Business details (legal entity name, "doing business as" name).

Identity & Verification Information (Waslers)

  • Date of birth;
  • Government-issued identification details where permitted by law;
  • Social Security Number or tax identification number (for background checks or tax reporting);
  • Other information for identity verification and background screening.

Muslim-Owned / Values-Based Information (Optional)

  • Whether you self-identify as "Muslim-owned," "Palestinian-owned," or other values-based badges;
  • Preferences for supporting Muslim-owned or other community businesses.

Service & Transaction Information

  • Service descriptions, categories, locations, and requested times;
  • Photos or videos you upload for a service request;
  • Service status, duration, pricing, and payment details;
  • Chat and communications between Clients and Waslers;
  • Reviews, ratings, and feedback.

Payment & Payout Information

  • For Clients: partial payment card details (processed via third-party processors), billing address;
  • For Waslers: bank account information or payout details, tax classification.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Device & Usage Information

  • IP address;
  • Device type, operating system, browser type and version;
  • App version, language, and configuration;
  • Dates and times of access, pages viewed, links clicked.

Location Information

  • General location based on IP address or postal code;
  • More precise location if you enable location services (to show Waslers or services near you).

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Identity verification and background check providers;
  • Payment processors and financial institutions;
  • Analytics providers;
  • Referral or integration partners;
  • Other Users (reviews, incident reports).

3. How We Use Your Information

3.1 Provide and Improve the Platform

  • Creating and managing your account;
  • Matching Clients with Waslers based on skills, timing, location, and preferences;
  • Processing bookings, payments, and payouts;
  • Managing customer support and resolving issues;
  • Operating, maintaining, and improving the Platform.

3.2 Trust, Safety, and Compliance

  • Verifying identities and running background or ID checks on Waslers;
  • Protecting safety of Users (detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, harassment);
  • Enforcing our Terms, Acceptable Use Policy, and other policies;
  • Complying with legal obligations (tax, accounting, recordkeeping).

3.3 Personalization

  • Tailoring search results based on your location, history, and preferences;
  • Highlighting Muslim-owned or values-based businesses when you enable such filters;
  • Recommending services or Waslers relevant to you.

3.4 Communications

  • Sending transactional messages (confirmations, receipts, reminders, security notices);
  • Facilitating in-app chat between Clients and Waslers;
  • Sending surveys and feedback requests.

3.5 Waqf & Community Impact

A core goal of Prowasl is to direct profits into waqf-based support for nearby mosques and community institutions. For this purpose, we may:

  • Analyze transaction volumes by general location and category;
  • Generate aggregated or de-identified reports for waqf fund allocation;
  • Share high-level aggregated data with participating mosques (without sharing personal contact information).

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information as described below:

4.1 Sharing with Other Users

  • For Clients: first name and initial, general location, profile photo, reviews;
  • For Waslers: name or business name, profile photo, biography, skills, rates, service area, ratings, reviews, and badges.

4.2 Service Providers

We engage third-party providers for:

  • Payment processing and payouts;
  • Identity verification and background checks;
  • Cloud hosting and data storage;
  • Analytics and performance monitoring;
  • Customer support tools;
  • Email, SMS, and push notification delivery;
  • Security and fraud prevention.

4.3 Mosques and Community Partners (Limited)

  • We may share aggregated or de-identified data with mosques and community organizations;
  • We do not share your personal contact information with mosques or partners for their independent marketing without your consent.

4.4 Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information to:

  • Comply with applicable law, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests;
  • Protect rights, property, or safety of Prowasl, Users, or the public;
  • Detect, prevent, or address fraud, abuse, or security issues;
  • Enforce our Terms or other policies.

5. Cookies, Tracking Technologies, and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Remember your preferences and settings;
  • Keep you logged in;
  • Measure how people use the Platform;
  • Provide and measure marketing.

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide the Platform and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy;
  • Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations;

8.5 Values-Based Badges

You can:

  • Choose whether or not to display a Muslim-owned, Palestinian-owned, or similar badge;
  • Change these settings at any time in your profile;
  • Adjust whether you wish to see or prioritize such providers in searches.

8.6 State/Regional Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., Colorado or California residents), you may have additional rights:

  • Right to request access to your personal information;
  • Right to request correction of inaccurate data;
  • Right to request deletion of some or all of your personal information;
  • Right to opt out of certain types of "sales," "sharing," or targeted advertising;
  • Right to data portability;
